The long-awaited escape to Cornwall had been on the cards for some time. Sun, sea and surf, who could want for more? We were to escape for the coast as soon as we broke up for Half Term, intending to be amongst the white horses with sand between our toes by the next morning.
Unfortunately, the international tyrant, the dream breaker, the plan wrecker, Covid, had other plans. One of the "Madder Crowd" was instructed to isolate for ten days due to close contact with a positive case. Half term was turned upside down.
However, as I sit here writing this, all is certainly not lost:
The Madder Crowd are all here, fit, healthy and surprisingly jolly.
The little lady and I are just back from visiting my Mum, the creative genius who always has an incredible new masterpiece to show us. She was in great form and fed us homemade scones (served the Cornish way to help us feel like we weren't missing out.)
The veggie bed will undoubtedly benefit from us being here. I am particularly excited about planting my "three sisters" section wherein beans, sweetcorn, and squash will grow in perfect harmony.

My stash of incredible naturally dyed fabrics will have a much greater chance of metamorphosing into something magnificent now.

I can take some time to get mindful with Wild's "Daily Dabble." She has developed an incredibly calming and happy daily calligraphy practise project that results in a beautiful, unique piece of artwork. I can't wait to get back to working with our incredible inks again, especially as I have recently managed to "borrow" one of Wild's hand painted nib holders to use with one of our favourite nibs.
Most excitingly, I absolutely can wait to photograph and list our incredible new range of notebooks.
So there you go; it may not be sea breezes, wetsuits and waves, but it will undoubtedly be a fabulous half term. Bring it on!
